What stone paper saves

of water per tonne that is never needed. Wood paper runs on process water that comes back polluted. Stone paper uses almost none, and no bleach or acid either.

What we give back

A fixed share of every sale goes to nature projects. Which projects, and how much has gone to them, will be published here once the first run has sold. Right now we have sold nothing, so we have given nothing. That is not modesty, it is the state of things, and putting a number here before it is true would be the sort of claim this page exists to avoid.

What it is not

Stone paper does not biodegrade and it is not plastic-free, because the binder is HDPE. A notebook left in the woods does not disappear, it slowly falls apart. Carry it home and put it in with the plastics, where it becomes raw material again.

Better than wood pulp. Not green.

The figures above come from life cycle assessments comparing stone paper with wood paper. They vary by study, by mill and by energy mix, and they measure production rather than the full life of the product. That is why we quote ranges and not guarantees.
